About Me

image (3)So who am I? I’m an urban planner/critic at heart hiding in a small business consultant’s body. Growing up in a smaller Atlantic Canadian city, I developed a fascination for large cities and their supporting infrastructure – massive highways, subways, skyscrapers, etc.

I’m an avid lover of urbanism and authentic neighbourhoods and a critic of urban sprawl. I long to travel to the world’s so-called most walkable cities. I want to experience these cities – but not as a tourist, as a resident. I’m so curious to learn what it’s like to live in such interesting urban environments. Experiencing these cities gives me hope that others will learn lessons about how to build a vibrant city….and cease viewing urban sprawl as a positive and desirable progression for society.

This blog is predominantly devoted to recounting my experiences in various cities, towns, villages, etc. I want let you know what I found to be interesting, what I wish I had avoided, and share tales, both positive and negative, about my experiences. This blog is just as much about remembering my own experiences as it is about sharing them with you.
